Summary: This book touches base on gay and lesbian couples. It talks about two penguins that are “different” because they are two male penguins who love spending time together. All they want is to have an egg to raise themselves and finally, the get that and the family ends up very happy. It introduces the topic of gay and lesbian couples to children.
Characters: penguins
Plot: Two male penguins love each other, just like male and female penguins do. They just want to be happy like everyone else.
Theme: gay/lesbian couples, being “different”
Opinion: I liked reading this book and I thought it had a well-written underlying message. I’m not sure if I would read this in my classroom but it is a definite possibility.
