Fair, Brown and Trembling

Title: Fair, Brown and Trembling
Author: Jude Daly
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: There are three sisters: Fair, Brown, and Trembling. Fair and Brown always went to church on Sunday’s, leaving Trembling, because she was “too beautiful.” Despite this, Henwife makes Trembling go to church, so she wore a white dress with green shoes. Trembling rode on her white horse to church, and everyone stared as she came in. After church, some men tried to chase after her. Fair and Brown tried to find the same white dress in the land of Erin, and Henwife tries to help Trembling dress in black to go back to church. People stare, again. For her third game, Trembling wants a snow white dress with blue slippers. Again, she rode her white horse to Church. Princes from all over came to church to see her, and the prince of Emania got a hold of one of her slippers. He came to her house with a slipper, and it fit Trembling. Other princes fought for Trembling, but lost. Prince and Trembling got married and had 14 kids. Fair and Brown went out to sea in a barrel for seven years and they were never seen again.
Characters: Fair, Brown, Trembling, Prince of Emania, Henwife
Plot: All of the princes were trying to fight for Trembling, but only one would win her love over.
Theme: N/A
Opinion: I thought this was a cute book, though it was not one of my ultimate favorites. It had a nice plot, but it was a little repetitive. I would recommend this book to younger girls, because I don’t think boys would like it.
