Title: The Three Pigs
Author: David Wiesner
Genre: Traditional
Literature
Summary: There were
three pigs.
First
Pig:
built his house out of straw. A wolf came and said “Little pig, little pig, let
me come in.” The pig said: “Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.” The wolf
said: “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!” The wolf blew
the house down and ate the pig.
Second
Pig:
built his house out of sticks. A wolf came and said “Little pig, little pig,
let me come in.” The pig said: “Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.” The
wolf said: “Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!” The wolf
blew the house down and ate the pig.
Third
Pig:
built his house out of bricks.
All three pigs moved on a paper airplane
but it crumbed. On their journey, they went to:
-Hey Diddle, Diddle, a land with dragons
(they rescued one), a castle with a dragon and Humpty Dumpty
The pigs went to all these different
stories and ended up back in their own, but the wolf was I the story book and
they were looking at it.
Characters: three pigs,
wolf
Setting: all different
storybooks
Plot: stay safe from
the wolf!
Theme: wolf kept
coming and repeated what he said to each pig to scare them
Opinion: I’ve read
about the three little pigs more than once, but I especially liked this
version. I think that David Wiesner put a nice spin on it, and it showed
different children’s story which was very interesting. I had a lot of fun
reading this book!
