Make Way for Ducklings

Title: Make way for Ducklings
Author: Robert McCloskey
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: Mr. and Mrs. Mallard (ducks) needed to find a new home, but they couldn’t agree on one because it needed to be suitable for the two of them and their ducklings that they were expecting. When they thought that they agreed on one place, it ended up being too dangerous for their ducklings. They looked at: Beacon Hill, around the State House, Louisburg Square and the Charles River. They finally found a spot that they both liked. They also found a friend, Michael, who fed them peanuts daily. One day, Mr. Mallard decided to see what the rest of the river looked like. Mrs. Mallard taught the ducklings how to swim, dive, walk in a line, come when they are called, keep a safe distance from bikes/scooters, etc. Mr. Mallard came back and liked what he saw. The family also made friends with a police officer, who made sure they crossed the street safely. At night, the ducks had their own little island to sleep on.
